A major redevelopment project at the Peel Memorial site of
the Williams Osler Health System will give people and families in Brampton better access to
state-of-the-art health care services.
The Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness will
offer patients convenient access to many services under one roof, using a team
of specialists and health professionals.
Patients will benefit from services such as:
- urgent
care and leading-edge day surgeries;
- preventative
care to help patients manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes and asthma;
- diagnostic
services including CT scans and bone density scans; and
- community
learning programs to help patients and their families understand their
condition and maintain their health.
Phase one of the new centre is set to begin in 2012 with
construction starting in the summer of 2013.
Investing in modern and efficient hospitals that support the
needs of our aging and diversifying population is part of Building Together, Ontario’s long-term
infrastructure plan. Ontario
will continue to make significant investments in public infrastructure over the
next decade to improve the quality of life for families.
